The processing of personal data is mainly governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and, where applicable, other privacy laws such as those in Canada and certain US states.

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

We do not intentionally collect other types of personal data, nor do we request “sensitive” data (such as health, religion other than what is clearly implied by the content of the books, political opinions, etc.).

3. Purposes and legal bases of processing

We process your personal data only for specific purposes and based on a suitable legal ground under applicable law.

3.1 Sending requested digital content

  • To send you free or paid digital materials (for example: bonus packs, activity pages, printable resources) that you requested via our forms.

3.2 Newsletter and editorial updates

  • To send you newsletters, updates about our books and projects, and information about new resources that may be relevant to you.

  • Legal basis: your consent given when you subscribe (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / UK GDPR).

3.3 Basic analytics and site security

  • To understand in aggregate how visitors use our pages (for example, which pages are most visited) and to keep the Services secure and functioning properly.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the Services and ensuring security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / UK GDPR), always in a way that does not override your rights and freedoms, and only where allowed by cookie/consent rules.

3.4 Legal obligations and protection of rights

  • To comply with legal obligations (for example accounting, tax or regulatory requirements).

  • To establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

  • Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR / UK GDPR) and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not sell or rent your personal data and we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as these terms are defined in certain US state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act – CCPA/CPRA).

4. How and where your data is processed

Personal data is processed mainly in electronic form, using technical and organizational security measures designed to protect it from unauthorized access, loss or disclosure.

Processing is carried out primarily within the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, but some service providers may process data in other countries, as explained below.

5. Service providers and data recipients

We share personal data only with selected third parties who help us provide the Services. These third parties act either as data processors (processing data on our behalf) or as independent controllers with their own privacy responsibilities.

By way of example, data may be shared with:

  • Systeme.io – funnel management, email marketing and automation.

  • Email and hosting providers – for sending newsletters and storing data securely.

  • Google LLC – analytics and cloud services (for example, Google Analytics, Google Drive), only where used and in compliance with cookie consent rules.

  • Amazon – for tools related to book promotion and sales, according to Amazon’s own terms and policies.

  • Meta Platforms Inc. and similar platforms – for advertising pixels or analytics, only where such tools are actually implemented and only after your consent via the cookie banner.

An updated list of the main data processors can be requested by writing to privacy@nikosolei.com.

We do not disclose your personal data to other third parties unless:

  • required by law or by a public authority;

  • necessary to protect our rights or those of third parties;

  • you have given your explicit consent.

6. International data transfers

Some of our service providers may process data in countries outside the EU/EEA and the UK, for example in the United States.

In such cases, transfers occur only when:

  • the European Commission or UK authorities have adopted an adequacy decision for the destination country; or

  • the provider participates in an approved Data Privacy Framework program for transfers from the EU/EEA and/or UK; or

  • we have entered into Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or similar contractual safeguards approved by the European Commission or UK authorities, and, where necessary, we adopt additional measures to protect your data. Reuters+4dataprivacyframework.gov+4European Commission+4

You can request more information about international transfers and the safeguards used by contacting us at privacy@nikosolei.com.

7. Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law.

In particular:

  • data used for newsletter and marketing purposes is kept until you withdraw your consent (unsubscribe) or after a period of prolonged inactivity (for example, 24 months with no interaction), after which we may delete or anonymize it;

  • data necessary to comply with legal obligations or to protect our rights may be kept for a longer period, within the statutory limitation periods.

When data is no longer needed, it will be securely deleted or anonymized.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live and on applicable law (for example, GDPR / UK GDPR, PIPEDA, certain US state laws), you may have some or all of the rights listed below:

  • Right of access: to obtain confirmation as to whether we process your personal data and, if so, to access it.

  • Right to rectification: to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.

  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): to request deletion of your personal data, where allowed by law.

  • Right to restriction of processing: to request that we limit processing in certain cases.

  • Right to data portability: to receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller where technically feasible.

  • Right to object: to object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests, including profiling, and to direct marketing.

  • Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

You can exercise these rights or ask any question about privacy by writing to: privacy@nikosolei.com.

We may ask you for information necessary to verify your identity before acting on your request.

9. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If you believe your rights have been violated, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority, in particular in the country where you live, work or where you think the violation occurred. For example:

Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits your right to file a complaint or seek other remedies available under applicable law.

10. Children’s privacy

Even though our books and materials are designed for children, the Services (websites, landing pages, forms) are intended to be used by adults (for example, parents, guardians, teachers).

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 years of age, or under the minimum age required by the law of their country of residence.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us at privacy@nikosolei.com. We will promptly delete such data.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

Our websites and landing pages use cookies and similar technologies.

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to function (for example, to keep your cookie preferences or allow the form to work). These are always active and do not require consent.

  • Statistics/analytics cookies: used, where implemented, to collect aggregated information on how the site is used (for example, visits to pages). These cookies are used only with your prior consent, where required by law.

At your first visit, a cookie banner allows you to:

  • accept all non-essential cookies;

  • refuse them;

  • or customize your choices.

You can change your preferences at any time through the link or button dedicated to cookie settings (if available) or via your browser settings.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example due to changes in our Services or in applicable laws.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we may also notify you via email or banner, where appropriate.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.
